What is Barcode Billing?

Barcode billing uses a barcode scanner to read product barcodes and automatically add items to a bill. Instead of manually searching for products, you just scan the barcode and the item is added instantly.

Types of Barcodes

EAN-13 (Most Common)

The standard barcode on most retail products in India. 13 digits.

QR Code

2D barcode that can store more information. Used for UPI payments and product tracking.

Custom Barcodes

You can print your own barcodes for products that don't have standard barcodes.

Equipment You Need

Barcode Scanner

USB Scanner:: Plug into computer/laptop. Works like a keyboard. ₹500-2000.
Bluetooth Scanner:: Wireless, works with mobile. ₹1500-5000.
2D Scanner:: Reads both barcodes and QR codes. ₹1000-3000.

Barcode Printer (Optional)

For printing your own product labels. Thermal label printers start at ₹3000.

Setting Up Barcode Billing in Biz by Sanvexo

Step 1: Add Barcodes to Products

Go to **Items → Edit Product**
Enter the barcode number in the barcode field
Or scan the barcode directly into the field

4. Save the product

Step 2: Connect Your Scanner

USB scanners work automatically — just plug in and they act as a keyboard.

Step 3: Start Billing

Open **POS Billing**
Click on the search field
Scan the product barcode

4. Product is added to the bill automatically

5. Scan next product
